Last
month, at an awards ceremony hosted by Big Bend Homeless Coalition,
Sew for HOPE was presented with the President's Volunteer Service Award
and a congratulatory letter from President Barack Obama.
Thank you to all our patrons and volunteers who made this award possible.

"Sew For HOPE" is a community-based non-profit group affiliated with the
Big Bend Homeless Coalition in
Tallahassee, FL. Together with residents of HOPE, we make http://www.sewforhopenow.com/?page_id=1415, blankets,
stuffed animals, and similar items for Tallahassee's homeless children served by BBHC.
We also take donations of handmade http://www.sewforhopenow.com/?page_id=1415 and blankets from caring individuals
who
love to sew (quilt, knit, crochet, etc), but who
are unable to meet with us in any given month.
Of course donations of purchased blankets are also appreciated and will be put
to good use.
"HOPE" stands for
"Housing Opportunities and Personal Empowerment." The
HOPE Community is one
way in which the BBHC reaches out to those in need, and is a joint effort
between the Coalition and the City of Tallahassee. HOPE offers "transitional
housing and supportive services" to more than 150 men, women, and children in
the Tallahassee/Leon County area.
"Sew For HOPE" provides
